Receiving a certificate presented by the Mayor of West Vancouver strengthened my belief that meaningful contributions, no matter how small, can make a real impact—and inspired me to do more for the community.
Through long-term training with the school team and the academy, As well as in volunteer work, I realized a high-quality, well-designed, and affordable badminton racket can help more people.
YAO FLAME was created to make that belief a reality.

YAO FLAME is a young student-initiated creative brand concept built around badminton
The finished badminton rackets in this project focus on hands-on learning in product design and development, brand building, and social responsibility rather than currently a commercial business.
Product Design & Development
The early design stages focused on understanding racket structure, weight balance, grip comfort, and aesthetic direction.

Design Process includes:
1. Identifying key performance components: spot optimization +handle ergonomics.
2. Sketching hand-drawn concepts: frame geometry.
3. Developing brand-aligned color and pattern ideas: color palette inspired by flame gradients.
4. Creating prototype visuals to show potential direction.
Worked with a manufacturing partner to conduct research and refine the product development process.
We designed three types of badminton rackets, each targeting different playing styles and performance needs.
First item:YF-B25 (Balanced Control 25) – Balanced all-around performance
Second item:YF-A25 (Aggressive Power 25) – Offensive power model
Third item:YF-X25 (Extreme Attack 25) – High-level performance for advanced play

About Community Contribution--
Badminton Racket Donation
As part of YAO FLAME’s commitment to supporting youth development and community well-being, we donated ten brand-new badminton rackets to the West Vancouver Community Centre.(starting January 2026)
These rackets were designed and developed by YAO FLAME and are provided with no commercial intent, advertising, or promotion. Our only purpose is to give back to the community has supported and inspired us.
Through this donation, we hope to:
• encourage more youth and families to experience badminton
• support active and healthy lifestyles
• contribute to a stronger and more connected community
We are grateful to the West Vancouver Community Centre team for their longstanding service and support to local residents.
